Learning to take it one day at a time

Published by Robin Green at 12:12 pm under Freelance, New, News, Work from home Edit This

Learning to take it one day at a time is a concept I did not fall into very easy. I have always been one to stick to a schedule and then when things come up, I am left feeling that I failed in some way. That is not a good way to keep your sanity in this freelance writing world. Things will come up from time to time that you had not planned into your day. Knowing how not to take that as a failure is a step in the right direction. Follow these simple steps in order to keep things in perspective.

1) Do things a head of time when you can. That will prevent you from getting into a rush at getting things done at the last minute if something comes up.

2)  When things do happen that prevents you from working daily, know that this happens all the time. Stop and take a breath if need be and relax. It is not the end of the world.

3) Opperate  on more of a long range schedule and not an hour by hour. This will help to know when reports, articles and such are due so that you know just how long you have to get things done.

4)  You are not a machine. Take AT LEAST one day off a week.

5)  If all else fails, talk to a friend. Get your mind on something other than missing a few hours or day of work.

This is just some of the things that I go by. If you have more to add, let us all know by leaving a comment. Have a great day and happy job hunting.
