Research Part 1
Research is the best way to start a new project of any kind, no matter if it is for business or personal. I have just read Researching Online For Dummies and The Extreme Searcher’s Internet Handbook. I picked them up at the public library which is a good resource for everyone. These books are filled with information on how to research with the best of them.
General search engines like www.altavista.com and www.excite.com are great for your everyday research needs in such areas of travel, auto’s, maps, and more. Here are some more search engines you may find. www.infoseek.go.com www.hotbot.com www.northernlight.com www.savvysearch.com www.bighub.com www.infind.com www.askjeeves.com www.invisibleweb.com www.dogpile.com .
You can also use a offline search engine which are a lot of times free to download. These offline search engines can help you find things more complex. They can even help you find exact phrases and subject matter. www.copernic.com and www.bullseye.com can be downloaded for your use.
On a note here there are 2 very popular search engine watch groups you may want to keep up on. The relay the latest news from all search engines. www.searchenginewatch.com and www.notess.com/search

Just a note to let you know about a sofeware that researches and summarizes for you. It is called Gist at http://gistweb.com/. It siads to download it, but I use the summary button at the top of the page and it works great.
Thanks for all the great information! Keep it up!!
